McLaren Communities Futures
Who Are We?
We are 10 community organisations covering the McLaren High School catchment area. We came together in December 2024, with the hope of accessing sizable grants available from the National Lottery Fund which helps communities respond to climate change now and in the future. The communities represented are:
- Callander
- Aberfoyle, Kinlochard, Stronachlachar & Inversnaid
- Doune & Deanston
- Thornhill
- Killin & Ardeonaig
- Tyndrum, Crianlarich & Inverarnan
- Brig O’Turk
- Balquhidder, Lochearnhead & Strathyre
- Gartmore
- Port of Menteith, Ruskie, Blairhoyle & Dykehead
What Are We Doing?
We were awarded a Next Steps grant from FEL Scotland to collaboratively identify a collective idea and priority projects which make sense for us to work on together regionally. Our starting point was to reflect on the future needs and wants voiced by our 10 communities in our Local Place Plans. This identified 5 priority areas, which we are gathering further feedback on from residents across our 10 communities.
