New Assessment Arrangements for People with Symptoms of COVID-19

2 April 2020

New arrangements are now in place across Scotland to assess people with symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19). Rather than calling their GP for advice, anyone whose symptoms have got worse or have not improved after seven days should now contact NHS 24 on 111, day or night.

They will then be followed up by local clinical staff who will carry out a telephone assessment and either provide advice or arrange for them to be seen at one of a number of new community assessment centres in Forth Valley.

In Stirling a community assessment centre has been developed at Stirling Health and Care Village and Aberfoyle Medical Centre is also being prepared for use as a temporary community assessment centre to improve access for people in rural Stirling.

Up-to-date information and advice on coronavirus can be found on the NHS Inform website or by calling the NHS Inform helpline on 0800 028 2816.
