Coppice House Guest House, situated in the West End of the picturesque village of Callander, gateway to The Trossachs in Scotland, is an ideal place to stay, either to explore the Trossachs and surrounding areas, or en route to one of the many destinations further afield. Coppice Guest House is close to lots of local amenities, only minutes walk away from local restaurants, bars and shops. We are directly opposite Callander Meadows, and on the doorstep of Ben Ledi and Ben Gullipen, with stunning views of each from the house. Callander Crags rise just behind the house and provide a scenic walk over to Bracklin Falls. We are a friendly, family-run guest house, with five en-suite letting bedrooms, a fabulous breakfast room and a beautiful lounge for the use of our guests.
The house was built in 1875, some years after the opening of the Glasgow to Callander railway line, for the family of a Glasgow doctor, and was originally intended as the family’s rather grand summer residence. The house maintains many of the original fine Victorian features such as elaborate plasterwork cornicing, high ceilings, and (now double glazed) sash and case windows, and is distinguished by its fine central turret. Coppice House has central heating throughout, making it cosy even in the depths of the Scottish winter. Walkers, cyclists, canoeists and bikers are all welcome; we have plenty of off- street parking, hosedown facilities for equipment, and drying facilities for wet clothing. National Cycle Route 7 is literally across the road and Callander Meadows has a play park, mini golf and duck pond to keep the children busy!
Our lovely breakfast room looks across to Callander Meadows and beyond to Ben Gullipen, with views of Ben Ledi to the side, and this is where we serve our delicious freshly-cooked breakfasts, making sure our guests are ready for the day ahead. We also serve a healthy and tasty selection of continental-style breakfast goodies, such as natural yoghurts, fresh fruit, cereals and freshly-baked pastries.
