Callander is ideally located for both touring Scotland and for exploring the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Stirling with its ancient castle and historic buildings is less than 1/2 hour by car. Glasgow and Edinburgh are about 1 hours drive.

Callander is often described as the gateway to the Trossachs and is a wonderful base from which to indulge in a range of outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, hill walking, fishing, watersports, horse riding, etc. The town itself has an excellent range of shops, restaurants and pubs, some of which provide live entertainment at weekends. The local information centre - the 'Rob Roy Centre' provides useful visitor information and provides information pamphlets and brochures as well as having a selection of books, guides and maps for sale.
