Callander Medical Practice
There is a new Callander Medical Practice Facebook page, please like and follow on Facebook for full and latest updates from the practice. Abbreviated information below.
Due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus the practice is telephone triaging all patients requesting to speak to or see a GP.
Anybody with moderate Covid symptoms (a new, persistent dry cough and/or a temperature over 37.8) should contact 111. General advice about Coronavirus can be found at nhsinform.scot.
If you have other health concerns and wish to speak to a GP you can request a telephone consultation by phoning 01877 331000 (urgent issues only, not routine ones that can wait). Should you need to be seen, the GP will give you a time to attend the practice or advise you that he or she will visit you at home. If you are advised to attend please do not bring extended family or friends into the building.
The practice continues to deal with day to day general practice issues including end of life care for our patients and acute illness. Please do not attend the practice unless instructed to do so as they need to protect the health of the staff to allow them to continue to provide GP services in the area.
Prescriptions can be requested as normal on the prescription line 01877 331001 or online. You can also put prescription requests in the box at practice (in the foyer) but they would prefer you to phone or use online.
The local pharmacies are asking for minimum 72 working hours between ordering and collecting your medication. Please do not over order medication as this could lead to shortages and stock piling. If you have nobody able to collect your medication for you and are self isolating the pharmacy can organise delivery and you should contact them regarding this. Do not stop or increase any medication without professional advice to do so.
Update: Automatic appointment reminder texts are being sent out for pre-existing appointments that no longer stand. If you receive a text for an appointment please ignore unless it is for an urgent face to face appointment with the nurse, in which case please phone the practice and check.
"This is a very difficult time for us all including the practice staff. We all have families we can take this virus home to so please respect the practice staff who turn up every day and put themselves at increased risk to help our patients."
2 April 2020 - there are now new assessment arrangements for people with symptoms of COVID-19.

"Revised Trossachs Pharmacy hours are currently 10am-1pm 2pm-5pm Monday to Friday - however these are subject to change.
Please allow a minimum of 72 hours before attempting to collect prescriptions.
Please refrain from calling the pharmacy to check if prescriptions are ready prior to the 72 hour waiting period as dealing with these basic enquiries is taking essential time away from our staff dispensing your medications.
If you have any symptoms or ailments and require advice, please contact the pharmacy by phone and you will be offered a phone consultation - we are trying to minimise face to face contact where possible.
Thanks for your continued support,
The Trossachs Team"
