GRANTS - CRITERIA

Applications will be considered by Callander Community Council (CCC) and its Airtricity Committee (AC) on the following basis:

1. Applications that fulfil the greatest number of the following criteria have the best chance of being successful. Note that Criteria ‘1a’ MUST be met:

  1. The organisation making the application and the activity for which the application is made MUST be based within the boundary of Callander Community council;
  2. The organisation making the application has a constitution, an appointed committee/board, audited accounts and has held an AGM within the 12 months preceding the date of the application;
  3. The grant will be used to benefit the social, educational, sporting or economic life of the community;
  4. The grant will be used to benefit tourism or the scenic or historic value of the area covered by CCC;
  5. The grant will benefit the community as a whole;
  6. The project for which the grant is applied is intended to be completed within 12 months of the date the grant is approved by CCC;
  7. The grant will be used for projects that result in improved energy efficiency, energy management or that are innovative, sustainable or renewable;

2. Applications that fall into the following categories are unlikely to be approved:

  1. Grants sought by individuals that are deemed to be for personal benefit;
  2. Grants sought for projects that are already funded or could reasonably be expected to be funded or undertaken by statutory bodies such as Stirling Council, Scottish Government, Police, schools or health services;
  3. Grants sought retrospectively;
  4. Grants sought which are intended to fully fund the project;
  5. Grants sought where a large amount is requested and only a few are likely to benefit;

3. Applications that fall into the following categories will NOT be approved:

  1. Grants sought for the promotion of any specific political or religious purpose
  2. Grants sought for the purpose of paying individuals’ salary or wages.
