Your guide to Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park

The Coppice House

The Coppice Hotel, situated in the West End of the picturesque village of Callander, gateway to The Trossachs in Scotland, is an ideal place to stay and explore the Trossacks. The Coppice is close to many local amenities, five minutes away from local restaurants and shops, and directly opposite Callandar Meadows. The Coppice is a friendly, family run establishment, with four letting bedrooms and a comfortable bar for the use of guests.

The house was built in 1875, some years after the opening of the Glasgow to Callander railway line, for the family of a Glasgow doctor, and was originally intended as the family’s summer residence. The house maintains many of the original fine Victorian features such as elaborate plasterwork, high ceilings, and sash and case windows, and is distinguished by its fine central turret. The Coppice has central heating throughout, making it comfortable even in the depths of the Scottish winter. Walkers, cyclists, canoeists and bikers are all welcome; we have paved off street parking, hosedown facilities for equipment, and drying facilities for wet clothing.

Our lounge bar stocks a wide selection of malt whiskies and beers, as well as premium spirits, and a selection of draught beer on tap during the summer season. The dining room has recently been refurbished to a high standard, and has a wonderful outlook directly onto Callander Meadows. The entrance vestibule, hall, stairs and upstairs landings have also recently been refurbished to bring them back to the grandeur of Victorian times. The house is full of our own pictures, books, magazines and maps for browsing and borrowing.
