Stronachlachar is not so much a village as an odd little collection of cottages and houses some of which once belonged to Scottish Water when they had a base there. Some of the cottages now make lovely holiday lets. Beside the steamer pier there is a tearoom which opens during the holiday season with quite an extensive and interesting menu (see below). To get to Stronachlachar, either park at the Trossachs pier at the east end of Loch Katrine and take the steamer, or you can drive there via Aberfoyle and then north pastii Loch Ard.
