About Poppies Hotel and Restaurant

One of the most charming family owned and managed hotels in the Trossachs with nine individually styled bedrooms, Cameron’s Bar built in local Oak and a superb acclaimed Restaurant.
In the ownership of the Martin family since 2004, they have and are continually investing in the Hotel to ensure it meets the highest of standards and service and that it retains its traditional ambiance yet with modern comforts. The Hotel is situated at the West End of Callander, four minutes walk to the centre of town, with its specialist shops, and with lovely views to the Trossachs hills, Callander Crags and Ben Ledi, the most southernly of Scotlands highland Bens.

Bedrooms

All nine bedrooms are different in their design , but all have en-suite facilities, in-room tea and coffee with handmade biscuits, digital television, telephone, ironing facility, hair drier, selection of magazines.
There are Superior Rooms which are larger in size with seating areas, Family Rooms and Standard Double and Twin bedded rooms.

The hotel has wi-fi available free to residents, complimentary parking on site and a garden where one can enjoy a cool drink in the Scottish Sunshine….or even al fresco lunch or dinner!

Camerons Bar, built in local Oak, provides a relaxing and cosy area to enjoy a pre dinner or lunch drink or a “wee dram” after, from our range of over 120 Malt Whiskies. Our Wine List covers all areas of the world with a wide range also available by the glass.

Apart from the warm hospitality, one of the main reasons guests return again and again to Poppies is to sample the wonderful food in Poppies Restaurant.
All fresh locally sourced and quality Scottish products are used to produce both a superb value “Early Evening Dinner” and an A La Carte Menu, often supplemented by Daily Seasonal Specials.
Most dietary needs can be catered for and we also have a Childrens menu for the under 12’s
An informal atmosphere prevails amongst white linen, fresh flowers and candelight to ensure your dining experience is memorable.

The Restaurant and Bar are open to Non Residents.

Poppies Restaurant

The food at Poppies is sourced locally, predominantly Scottish and features local venison, fresh west coast Fish and Seafood, home grown garden herbs, Dornoch Lamb, Aberdeenshire Pork, Scottish prime Beef , Scottish Cheeses and with some creative vegetarian dishes.

Our produce is fresh and produced by our Kitchen Team who have a passion for good food with a style which combines traditional and modern flair.

We can cater for special dietary requirements and have a “wee menu” for our little guests.

Restaurant Opening Times

Poppies Restaurant is open for lunch, 12.00 to 2.00pm and dinner 6.00 to 9.00pm.
Sunday Lunch is 2 courses £13.50 or 3 courses £17.50 with a Roast of the Day.
In the Evening we have a special “Early Evening Menu” from 6.00 to 7.00pm which is tremendous value and popular.
2 Courses £13.50 and 3 Courses £17.50.

Our main A la Carte Menu operates from 6.00 to 9.00pm.

Meals are also served out in the Garden in the Scottish Sunshine!!
Table reservations are advisable.

The Bar

Cameron’s Bar is a cosy and relaxing place to enjoy a pre lunch or dinner drink whilst perusing the menu. After dinner, why not sample one of the 120 or so Malt Whisky’s from the beautifully made Oak Bar, made from local wood by local craftsmen. Our own Whisky List will guide you through the vast selection on offer including some rare and special finds!

Our Wine Selection is put together after careful sampling, offers a range covering most regions of the world,
and with a good choice of wines by the glass.
